Getting Started
VarsitySync lets schools, teams, and organizations display digital signage content on Apple TV, Fire TV, and web browsers using a simple display code.
How it works
- Create a Free VarsitySync account on our website.
- Create a screen and assign media such as PNG, JPG, MP4, or Google Slides.
- A unique display code is generated for each screen.
- Download the FREE VarsitySync app on Amazon Firestick App Store or Apple TVOS App Store.
- Enter the display code in the VarsitySync app on your device.
- The content loads and plays automatically.
No purchases or subscriptions occur inside the tvOS/firestick app. Any optional subscriptions are managed separately on the website.
Troubleshooting
Display code not loading
- Verify the six character code is entered correctly on the device.
- Confirm the screen is active in your VarsitySync dashboard.
- Check that the device has an active internet connection.
- Restart the VarsitySync app and enter the code again.
Slides or videos not updating
- Refresh or update the screen in your VarsitySync account.
- Wait a few minutes for cached content to refresh.
- Confirm the media file is correctly assigned to the screen.
Google Slides not showing
- Make sure the Google Slides presentation is set to “Anyone with the link can view”.
- Confirm the link you pasted in VarsitySync is correct and active.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an account to use the app?
The tvOS/firestick app itself does not require a login. You only need a display code that was created on the VarsitySync website. Easy as Pie!
Do I have to pay to use VarsitySync?
A display code can be created for free. Organizations may choose to subscribe on the website for additional screens or features, but no purchases happen inside the app.
Can I manage my screens inside the app?
Screen management happens on the VarsitySync website. The tvOS and Fire TV apps are display players only.
